Odissi - Learn to Dance – Your First Steps
Odissi is an East Indian dance form usually performed in sacred spaces and temples. The basic building blocks are made of 10 chow-kaas and 10 tri-bhungis (right and left). These get strung together to become performance pieces. In this introductory 2 hours workshop we will work on learning the first 5 chow-kaas and 5 tri-bhungis, neck, eyes, torso, hands, and feet movement, along with mudras (or hand gestures) most commonly used in dance.
The session will include warm up and cool down exercises.
